Federal law already prevents money from the federal treasury to be applied towards abortions, that being said, there are people who believe that places like Planned Parenthood only provide abortions and have little other value. While the States have the right to regulate healthcare within their borders, they do not have the right to go against the Supreme Court's finding that some abortions should be maintained as legal as they are a personal right. If the States are given the right to defund "abortion providers" (health centers that focus on reproduction) merely by virtue of the fact that they sometimes provide abortions occasionally, we would in essence be saying that the sovereignty/laws of the States are not subject to Supreme Court rulings. And that I think is a slippery slope. Where will we draw the line?
