The purpose of this bill is to make it more difficult for EPA to protect public health and the environment. It is a "solution" to a nonexistent problem: the baseless suggestion that EPA does not already base its actions on the best available science, on publicly available science, and on specifically identified science. The real goal is to make it impossible for EPA to act. While proponents of this bill would object to being called pro-pollution, the obvious impact of the bill would be to increase pollution. It is so sad that people have swallowed the lie that EPA imposes pointless burdens on business. Public health and the environment have benefited enormously by EPA's work over the decades. To roll back all that progress for purely ideological reasons would be nothing short of tragic.
