America is a great country because of its law and order, and to keep America great we must all contribute equally to these laws. If you desire to become part of this great nation and receive the benefits (healthcare, education, etc), you MUST be willing to do your equal part and legally become an American citizen. Allowing illegal citizens to cut corners and receive benefits and protection that I have worked so hard to earn as an AMERICAN is an insult, and funding cities who encourage this allows us to believe that it is ok to not work for your rights, and become expecting/entitled people. Freedom isn't free. For anyone. Period. I support a system in which all people do their part, a system that does not allow illegal immigrants to become a priority over American citizens, compromising our promised rights. I fully support immigrants receiving healthcare and education as the rest of us do, but I except everyone to pay taxes and do the proper paperwork to become an American, as well as respect the laws and have repercussion when crime is committed. I worked three jobs to get myself through university debt-free, and was denied scholarships because I was not enough of a minority, despite my Hispanic heritage. I'm not sure when or where it became a priority to meet demographic requirements, including giving illegal immigrants grant money and scholarships to go to school when I was denied such help as a tax-paying citizen. That is all.
