Drug companies manipulate too many desperate people looking for relief and there is enough information as public record for a patient to do their own specific research without being bombarded by exaggerations and lies. Ive taught at cornell med school and I have never seen any benefit to drug ads. I also believe that the drug companies whom have contributed greatly to the opioid epidemic should be funding non-profit rehabilitation programs to help curb the problem; they do not deserve a cent of tax money when they’re pushing drugs that could easily kill you. 9 out of 10 heroin addicts start off as prescribed patients. Big pharma is known to give kickbacks to doctors that prescribe more of the medications that can make them more money, this leads people to be prescribed drugs that are mostly non generic and thus extremely expensive and less information on long term effects. They could pay for their own ads with the money that they’re lining prescribers pockets.
