The One item that stopped me from saying “yes” is the Distribution portion of this bill. Considering that approximately 35 States have voted for Medicinal and/or Recreational consumption of Marijuana thus creating businesses that are licensed this part did not jive with my sensibilities; because anyone who is lawfully purchasing from dispensaries should not be pursued by law enforcement and under normal circumstances would not be. By allowing an “unlicensed” person to Sell/Distribute Marijuana opens the door to the smuggling in of this Medicine without knowing its origins etc. and continues a Cycle of Illegal Marijuana. If we want to shut the Cartels down We need to make Marijuana Legal in ALL States so that there is No incentive to be Illegal and Not Pay Taxes. Legalization makes it Taxable which adds to each States Coffers for things that are in need of attention like Education, Roads, etc. this would Force Cartels to become “legitimate businessmen” and could stop the unnecessary murders happening all along our Southern Borders.
