This resolution recognizes the victims and survivors of Islamophobic hate crimes or hate crimes committed against people perceived to be Muslim. In it, Congress extends its condolences to victims and their family members.

Islamophobia is prejudice against, hatred for, and/or fear of Islam and Muslims.

The House expresses that it seeks to represent the human rights of all U.S. citizens and decries the escalation of intimidation, violence, and vandalism against people or groups perceived as Muslim. It also recognizes the positive contributions that Arabs, Muslims, Sikhs, and South Asians make to U.S. society while upholding the rights of religious freedom enshrined in the Constitution.
