Businesses must be held accountable for the damage they cause. Particularly since the people making these decisions are not the ones who have to live with the repercussions of contaminated water. There is no point in repealing something merely for the "fine print" if there is no alternative prepared to actually improve it. That is a fallacious argument. Additionally, protecting the coal industry is not in the interests of overall societal progress, but preserving our natural resources is. If businesses are not held accountable for the consequences of their actions, there is no future for our society. It increases the wealth gap, the health gap, and diminishes the power of the people. These are very serious results that cannot be taken lightly.
