It depends really. Some confederates, like Lee, were really decent people. I think if a confederate is to be honored and remembered in any way it should be because of their involvement in the reconstruction after the war. It takes a lot to humble yourself, admit you were wrong, and then try to right that wrong. That's something to be honored and remembered especially in this age when people are so proud and unforgiving.To me nothing is more beautiful than forgiveness, mercy, and redemption. These are things we have to believe in as long as we believe that all men are imperfect and flawed.
