This should not even need to be a question. People should be paid for the work they do. Why do people work? So we can pay our bills to feed our families and survive. Living requires survival and survival requires money. Slave labor has been abolished for very good reason, it's WRONG. If the job is essential and people are doing the jobs, these essential personnel require compensation WHILE they do the work. The bills will not pay themselves. Only less than 1% of Americans are wealthy enough not to require regular compensation. If the wealthy want to build walls, make them pay for it themselves and let the workers be compensated on schedule. The day energy, housing, healthcare, food, and other essential living requirements and minimum modern comforts become free for all Americans is the day money / pay will become irrelevant. Until this magical occurrence, workers deserve their pay and essential personnel doing essential work should be paid their essential due.
