The President should not only have good cause to fire the FBI director, but he should have to be able to define what that good cause is, and have the AG report to both the Senate and House Judiciary committees. Give the AG 10 days to respond, and if that response doesn't happen, or is deemed unacceptable within 30 days of the AG's report, by either committee, the fired FBI director would be automatically reinstated. In addition, a fired director or acting director would automatically receive the full pension amount for the full year in which they were fired. Andrew McCabe got screw out of his pension by being fired within days of his retirement with full benefits. This was done by Jeff Sessions, without just cause.
