Absolutely we should reform our loan system and also, if we cannot fully fund tuition for all public colleges, then we should at least find ways to lower the costs dramatically. If we can't do that, then we should make community college free and provide trade programs that train people for two years in specific trades so that they are ready for a job. As far as the loans, there should a minimal interest rate for students. Our economy is one of consumer spending and if our graduates are so burdened with their debt then how can they contribute to an economy that is so heavily dependent on consumption by people? We could cover all tuition if we rearrange our finances. Our federal budget is so poorly organized that we are using billions of dollars inefficiently. This can also be said about our healthcare system. If we were to properly organize our healthcare and education, even if at the same cost, we know that at least it would reach and help more people which in essence, means that we are efficiently spending our money.
