Scientists at the EPA and elsewhere provide peer reviewed science that should be used to make decisions. That system is in place and functions to provide good science and to clarify whether perceived or real conflicts of interest exist and discloses the funding sources of the scientific findings. The addition of this bill is to try and stifle science. The hubris of congress to make decisions based on what lobbyists and their financial backers say about science instead of reading the scientific literature is very disturbing. This bill reflects the lack of understanding congress has about the scientific process and the damage this bill could do to the health of all Americans and to the environment will not be seen until it is too late.
