This was an old question from 40 years ago. It’s basically asking “should people on financial aid be required not to enjoy the little pleasures in life we all enjoy”. By that I mean, must everyone stops to buy a Coke or a beer or a cigarette and no one prevents them from buying those little pleasures occasionally. Many Welfare recipients are single moms. Are we saying these people don’t deserve to enjoy life occasionally just because of unfortunate circumstances or poor choices or limited education? If it’s legal to buy a beer or a cigarette then pot is no different. Now I know this doesn’t sound great but what is the Christian way of judging your neighbor. ...................................................... But if we as a country want to save our hard earned tax money there are hundreds of HIGH value expenditures we could and should worry about, starting with no 23 BILLION dollar concrete wall. Let’s just save that money and we get another tax break??? Sounds reasonable to me. I hope you put things into perspective now. Thank you.
