If society would stop emasculating men, maybe fathers, brothers and sons could step back into the role of protector... If society would stop insinuating that safety and security are not a personal issue, maybe women would be more empowered to learn self defense and exorcise their 2nd amendment rights. This is not an educational issue; I've known quite a few strong women who have put up with horrible treatment because they were in love. No. It's a heart issue. Feelings and emotions are involved. You can't effectively legislate feelings or educate one to exorcise emotional issues. It's a heart thing. If one could accomplish that then restraining orders would be effective... But they're not. There are many cases where women got restraining orders when they should've acquired a firearm instead. You want to educate people to affectively reduce domestic violence? Mandatory judo or jujitsu classes in PE throughout primary school... Elementary through high school; and bring back firearm training in public schools as well. An armed society (as well as one that can physically defend itself with bare hands) is a polite society.
