I served in Ethiopian from 2014-2016. It is so so important to make sure that volunteers have better access to healthcare. Most of the care we got was really good, however there was not nearly enough mental health support. At one point there was only one counselor for over 200 volunteers who were suffering from various traumas, depression, and and other mental health conditions without sufficient support. People had to wait months for an appointment and had to have special travel arranged to come into the capital to get care, which could be 2+ days traveling, which for someone with mental health issues is ridiculous. We need to take care of our volunteers!
