Do not support a bill that penalizes providers for doing what they were taught to do in the best interest of mother and child. If the child has minimal to no chance of living a normal life, they should be allowed to pass as expected. No need to waste money and resources on a premie with multiple medical disabilities that would cause him to suffer his whole short life. It would also cost the parents and system hundreds of thousands for resuscitation, attempts to fix the problems, and lifelong care . The parents were already grieving over a child that would not live, why make them watch and pay for the resuscitation and chronic care of a baby not meant to live.
It is not the providers ‘ fault, and they wouldn’t be allowing these babies to do what was expected out of malice but compassion.
