Immigrants formed this country. It is in our ideals that we uphold these beliefs. Give us your sick and unwanted. Great Britain turned its nose to us while offloading their unwanted because of their limited landmass. What grew from that negligence was strength in a republic powered by the people left behind. Americans can do anything, it's apart of our unwavering exceptionalism. We grow our indeals and instill them with open arms to our neighbors. We need sophisticated immigration reform. Which what I believe was being built upon. Not so much, we're locking up children and families. And attempt to build a herpy derp wall. This isn't a problem you can fix with stone, it's an opportunity you can strengthen with virtue and liberty. Anything else is isolationist nationalism, which got us attacked in Pearl Harbor. I feel it is such we should reconsider our racist reflexes and think of our virtues to the republic first.
