First, I'm a Republican. Second, Congress doesn't have the Constitutional authority to enact this bill. It limits the local and state governments' ability to impose ANY kind of tax. You should not vote on this bill without reading the details. It caps the max effective tax rate at 50% for almost every tax we pay (it's not just talking about income taxes). It also doesn't specify how it would enforce the rule. Example: After paying my state income taxes, tobacco tax, gas tax, sewage tax, etc, if I've already contributed 50% of my income, I wouldn't pay anything to the fed. It's hard to keep aircraft carriers in the Arabian Gulf if we stop paying federal taxes.
