The President is a public servant and transparency is vital to his or her credibility and trustworthiness. Candidates have voluntarily released their tax returns in good faith to demonstrate this, and Trump's refusal to do so under the guise of an audit and then by saying the public doesn't care (when we obviously do) is an indication that he is not credible or trustworthy. Trump assumes that the public is stupid by saying it's a complicated document, but economists and scholars on financial matters do exist that can parse the data for us and uncomplicate it. This is all a ruse to hide something. This bill should be put into law, so that the highest elected official in the land knows that they are a servant of the people, not the other way round.
