This is an issue that I really had to think about, and eventually found myself in opposition to. While I understand the desired affect of limiting congressional terms, and i'm not even wholly against term limits, I actually doubt it would work as well as people hope. There are other ways to destroy and limit corruption and gerrymandering in Congress besides instituting limits. While "bad" congressmen will eventually be booted out, so will the "good" ones. One of my inspirations is Bernie Sanders, who has been in congress for more than 20 years. I believe he has constantly been fighting for the rights of the people, and he's probably the most ethical politician I know of. Instituting term limits would boot him out of congress, as well as the few ethical politicians like him. So while I agree with the desired outcome of this, I have to vote against it because I believe there are other ways to achieve the outcome.
