Many teenagers feel as though they have no political power yet have a lot of passion for important issues. This bill would allow citizens to be involved from an earlier age while keeping their involvement local. Yes, the legal age for voting was set at eighteen, but since then there has been more availability of knowledge thanks to technological advances. Teenagers may be a tad immature but they are also capable of understanding the consequences of their vote. Teens also have higher access to educational resources on history, politics, and economics that they can reference. Empowering teens is not a bad thing, certainly not a ploy.
