Yes cannabis should be federally decriminalized and left up to the states to regulate. There is no legitimate justification to not do so. I don’t see the federal government blocking alcohol (they did and it didn’t work and created the bootleg industry followed by mass violence and the creation of powerful crime lords ex: al capon). After repealing prohibition, bootleg alcohol largely disappeared and is basically non existent today and with it the gangs controlling it went to other industries and found other illicit activities. If you wanna hurt the drug cartels in Mexico, make null their main export... there would still be some black market but no where near as lucrative and therefor not worth the trouble it would cause. Do what’s right and don’t play politics and don’t pander to the small minority that says “drugs are bad, mmkay” (cannabis is no where near being harmful in the way that tobacco and alcohol is and it’s a MUCH better treatment than pharmaceuticals are). Hell, even Christians get stoned.
