This country was built on immigrants and they continue to contribute to our economy and society and deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. And the majority of constituents in these sanctuary cities feel this way. These cities should not be punished for upholding the values of the majority of their constituents. Further, I don't believe withholding funding from these cities will have any impact on their compliance with tough immigration laws. I think the opposite will happen and these cities will dig in deeper. In general, most of these cities (if not all of them) oppose this new administration. This new administration should work with these sanctuary cities rather than further the divide.
