Limiting access to abortion doesn't prevent abortions as much as it prevents *safe* abortions. The most effective way to decrease the number of abortions (a trend which has been going on in the US for a while now), is maintaining access to affordable contraception. The battle to limit abortion, if sincere, is better served through pregnancy prevention. I have a sneaky feeling that the anti-abortion fight isn't actually about curbing abortions, and more about punishing women for having sex. I'm happily pregnant right now and expecting a baby boy this summer, but I will fight for women's choice to make decisions about their health with the consultation of their doctors and without the interference of politicians.
