Since there have been more cyber security breaks in corporate systems across the country, and possibly in our own government, we need to upgrade the federal technical system. Having one person in charge of overseeing all agency and department systems, and seeing that all are updated with the best security protections, will definitely improve government security and inner agency and department communication. I also like that all is to be reported to Congress by this CIO. Anyone in this CIO position needs the authority to see that all agencies and departments use the most secure systems, and that any desired changes be processed through this CIO. There does however need to be a better explanation as to why this change will cost taxpayers $2 million.
