I support federal legalization of marijuana. The only reason Sessions does not want to legalize it on a federal level is because he would like a way to fill private prisons with a part of the population they deem dangerous to their agenda. With law enforcement being allowed (Sheriff Apario) to racially profile, and the administrations message that even if law enforcement is held accountable for violating law regarding racial discrimination, they will be absolved of wrong doing as long as it's in the name of "law and order", prisons will be filled with low level offenders of color and stripped of their right to vote. This is another way to suppress votes from people who would typically swing blue or independent and a gift from the federal government to the corrupt corporations that run private prisons. The majority of voters do not agree with criminalization of marijuana. Remember what Dr. Kings widow stated in her letter to congress in 1986 regarding Sessions federal judgeship, "Anyone who has used the power of his office as United States Attorney to intimidate and chill the free exercise of the ballot by citizens should not be elevated to our courts,”. This is another attempt to "chill the free exercise of the ballot by citizens", ALL citizens. This is not about marijuana. Marijuana is just the unfortunate smoke screen to the fire of minority voter suppression. I wish America would wake up.
