Puerto Rico can make do with the $8B that’s already been allocated to them. Building codes for new construction have also been modified through the help of FEMA. If they need more funds at some point, that can be handled when necessary.
It’s odd to me that this bill is introduced shortly after warehouses of supplies were found setting idle, not distributed, and not long after corruption issues surfaced. Let’s give them some time to prove themselves.
Voting “no” to this type of expenditure could help fix the deficit.
