I understand the opposition to this law: women are equal to men in every way and shouldn't need a law to give them an opportunity to be political and diplomatic negotiators. It's almost demeaning to suggest that women need a law to protect their equality when men need none. However, demeaning to women is the world we live in, and the time is past due when the US should strive to take the lead in the world's establishment of women in places of power and decision making. The way I see it, women shouldn't need a law to protect their basic human existence and equality, but history has shown that they do. So vote yes to continue a momentum of change to the history.
