The descendants the Generals whose statues are in question want the statues moved.
Gen. Lee did not want any monuments or remembrances of the Civil War placed anywhere. He realized that putting up monuments would only serve to further inflame. In fact, he requested that he not be buried in attire that contained Confederate regalia. All artifacts and remnants of that dark time in our country should be removed from public places and housed in museums, not in reverence, but as a reminder of what should not be.
