The implications of this decision are huge. This is a supremely difficult one for me. I believe in sanctuary cities. I absolutely believe in open borders. I absolutely believe that brown or black or any colored person be given the same admission into the US as the scots-Irish (not to be confused with Irish) in the 1700-1800's. I do not believe in limiting entry of religious people of any kind. However this is a two-sided issue. One is: do you believe in open borders for immigration? The other is: Do you believe in states' right to choose the federal laws it follows. If so, do they deserve to be penalized. If not, then do you believe that states have the right to disregard laws that create equality set up by other, more thoughtful administrations over the last 150 years of constitutional amendments. It's a really tough one. Typically I absolutely choose free and open society and federal laws supersede state ones. At the end of the day, Local officials can relax how they apply the law.
