Trying criminal action during wartime is essential to protecting people around the world from war crimes. Allowing war crimes to go un-answered virtually guarantees more violence akin to the Holocaust in WWII Germany, the Atrocities committed by the Japanese against the Chinese in WWII, Soviet era murders of millions of political dissidents, US genocide of Native people, and the list goes on. We must hold Russia accountable for the consequences of not holding up its agreement on removal of chemical weapons oversight in Syria. Their non-action is, at the minimum, gross negligence resulting in being an accessory to war crimes. In reality though, this seems like business as usual during the Cold War; Russia aids the government of a Nation in subduing its populace at all cost and with little regard for the lives of the people under that regime. The US answer is to waggle a finger, tut at the Russians, & then arm & train the rebels. Then, when Russia loses interest, we abandon the rebels and any promises we've made them. Resulting in another group of armed militants who have a huge grudge against the US. Let's change the narrative, Please.
