As I read the arguments opposed to this bill, it sounds more to me like arguments in favor of it. Privatize health care? Allow people to opt out? Destabilize the system? All excellent outcomes for medicare, as far as I'm concerned. In fact, if we keep medicare, since my tax dollars go toward it, I think that means I get a say in how people live their lives. So, that means I get to tell people to put out their cigarettes, close the pizza shops, put the cookies down and all sorts of other things I should have the right to do since their behaviors result in poor health which raises costs which then I have to pay.
