"Let the people vote," they say. The people did vote-- when we decided not once, but twice, to elect president Obama. The logic that the year during which a president can nominate a Supreme Court justice would matter is an absolute fallacy. The impact of the appointment would be great, make no mistake. So why does it matter which president makes that decision? That divisive reasoning is bipartisan folly that the Supreme Court ought not meddle with in the first place. The logic behind the Republican impetus is deeply flawed, and I'm offended that they expect the people to fall for it.
