This bill would impose a fresh round of sanctions for Iran for sponsoring terrorism, money laundering, and committing humans rights abuses. Specifically, it would target the following institutions:

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and any entities that it owns.

Mahan Air, a private airline company.

Financial institutions that export “sensitive technology” to Iran or engage in transactions with Iranian individuals who commit human rights abuses.

The President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, and the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei.

Individuals involved in Iran’s ballistic missile program.

This legislation would also restrict Iranian access to U.S. financial institutions and require the Department of State to support individuals and organizations promoting law and order and economic growth in Iran. It would also amend the Iran-Iraq Arms Non-Proliferation Act of 1992 by adding ballistic missiles and related technology.

The Department of the Treasury would also be required to create a watch list for the IRGC that would be published in the Federal Register.

This bill would order the president to assign a Special Coordinator on Human Rights and Democracy in Iran. Lastly, it would require Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Voice of America to expand programming in Iran.
