The Wall is an ill-conceived non-solution to a problem that barely exists, and I'm dismayed but not surprised that Trump is trying to push it through via budget appropriations. Aside from the expense and negative foreign policy impacts -and the fact that it will not stop illegal immigration- I am hugely, even bigly, opposed to the Wall's environmental ramifications. I would prefer the US address immigration by addressing cause and effect: if people are crossing for jobs, allow work visas for those jobs that go unfilled by American workers, and enforce existing laws that make it illegal for COMPANIES and CORPORATIONS (including Trump, Inc.) to hire those that are undocumented ... fine them, send the CEOs to prison. If possible, support and work with our neighbors, as Canada is attempting with us regarding fair labor practices & fortification of unions, through trade deals that benefit all involved. It's clear that the Republicans are going to vote to starve our protections by cutting funding anyway. I say, if there's no way to keep them afloat, let the Wall drown right alongside them.
