Should "Redskins" Be Removed From The List Of Trademark-able Words?

I find the terrible depiction of our Native American cultures in sports to be deeply unsettling. In a society where using the "N" word can lead to a career being tanked, how do we still find it acceptable to deride our Native peoples?
