The fact that private companies hold sway over someone’s private information with essentially no recourse to remove inaccurate information is ridiculous. Not withstanding they are not accountable for any breach of the massive amounts of private information they hold. Employers should have no ability to access private credit records. Unless all three agencies (pretending they are quasi governmental organizations by using that name) are in 100% agreement on a debt they should not list it. Each of them produce their own scores. Banks get to choose which agency to use and as such can up interest rates or terms at will by choosing the worst one. The three agencies need to agree on one method of rating. And one repository for the information that they can all access so that they all give the same info.
