More red tape?! Living in CT I look forward to farmer’s markets in the summer for locally grown produce. When I go grocery shopping I rarely find any American grown produce. Mostly from Mexico and Chile. Even pineapples are from the Philippines not Hawaii. While it is a good idea to have a garden tended by students to grow vegetables, it wouldn’t be practical everywhere. Besides products besides produce are needed. Products from other countries will always be less expensive to make by using cheap labor and not having so many regulations. That is why greedy American companies outsource to other countries. These waivers, meant with good intentions, would be a costly effort in futility. Waiver reason #2 would be constantly in use.
