I do not believe the way the Congressional districts are drawn are reflective of the culture, counties, and constituents. As a constituent from IL, probably one of the worse cases of gerrymandering, this is especially true. The congressional districts do not reflect the various subcultures of the suburbs, northern IL, central IL, west central IL, southern IL and so on, and I have lived throughout the state. It's crazy. I would hope most people believe the fairest way to proceed is to have an independent group, which does not stand to benefit, draw the district boundaries, in ways that are actually reflective of constituents.
