No one alive today was a slave. All Americans are free from slavery today. No reparations are needed, because no one alive has been wronged. Should the government acknowledge the horrors perpetrated on the African American Community? Yes, and they do. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints were literally driven out of their homes and lands multiple times by mobs, some led by the state government. Should reparations be made to the Mormons too while we're at it? No, because it happened in the past. So unless the government is willing to consider making reparations to all communities wronged, then I think we should let it go and move on.
