No one is being told to change their religious views here. The only way it could be interpreted that way is if your religious view required you to not treat your fellow humans as equals. As someone who was brought up in a catholic household, I can definitely say that Catholicism has never once asked me to treat another person as lesser than myself, and has always encouraged love for my neighbors. Do you really think an all powerful entity would spend any time at all being concerned over whether one business owner did or did not serve a homosexual person? As it turns out, we live in a secular state, and so discrimination based on religious morals or interpretations should never be protected rights, and I'm almost positive the pope would agree.
