Some of the posted for comments are unbelievable. One reference to EEO and how the origin of the worker is not relevant. H1B visa was sold as a temporary system due to labor shortages. It was never intended for foreign workers to stay. In some circumstances it can and should lead to a Green card and path to citizenship. Not for everyone. This is the scam corporations has used, dangle the Green card, expect long hours, don't complain. I've been in IT for 30 years. I've seen the good and the bad of H1B. Many highly skilled US workers have been displaced by H1B's due to lower cost wages. Period. The layoffs are indiscriminate. US citizen male and female workers of all colors discriminated due to wage levels and of course age. I've been to India on more than one occasion. I witnessed first hand the caste system, discrimination that is far worse than ever existed here. We see it now in the US. Laid off tech workers can forget about applying a job with Indian led companies. If you are not Indian, no interview, no opportunities to even prove yourself. So I read all these comments stating how the US citizen should be pushed aside because they are less qualified. The ones lacking any skills or qualifications are our Senate and Congress who have sold out the US worker. Last time I checked, I was a citizen and had rights, the US was not an open border society. I don't see too many people allowed to work in India or other countries as being described by these posts. The politicians wish to open our borders with unlimited workers. Rest assured, the H1B's making a decent wage will be replaced by someone else willing to work for less. Welcome to the greed cycle and destruction of the US middle class.
