Anything with such history should be conserved for ever. Regardless of the issues behind it, history is history and it should always be recognized and remembered. The Civil War was a war waged within our own country. The confederates at the end of war became citizens again (provided they didn’t commit war crimes), therefore the Civil War members regardless of the side should be remembered because of the impact they made on the country. And of course, erase history and you’re doomed to repeat it. Never agree to destroy or change anything that has historical significance. I want my future grandkids to know all about it and see the names and statues of historical figures.
