Although I suspect that the "unintended consequence" of this bill will be a net increase in the number of TSA employees, You know, "personnel to police the police." However, the concept itself is common sense. Anyone charged with this responsibility, and given this authority/power, should be law abiding, have a TWIC credential, and successfully pass screening for illegal drugs. In those states where marijuana is legal, there will some interesting issues. If you smoked legally last night, should you be denied employment in the TSA today? Hmmmmmm. I would err on the side of caution and recommend that applicants and employees should be marijuana free as well as free of illegal drugs.
