In theory the feds notifying state officials about someone failing a background check, sounds like a good idea if it’s a convicted felon, however, I’d like to know what is involved in a background check? Is there a possibility that someone that isn’t a convicted criminal can fail a background check without being aware that they could fail it? This is very important since people could potentially get arrested without knowing or understanding this. Given the current political climate, I worry that specific ethnicities will be targeted. Today, you can be put on a no fly list without knowing it. I’m concerned that the same could happen with background checks and that innocent people may be arrested through no fault of their own.
