Is the sperm not a living organism? Is the egg not a living organism as well? If these aren't alive then how can they produce life after birth? Is a seedling not alive just because it isn't a tree yet? No. All these things are living. As soon as a sperm fertilizes an egg, a baby has started to form. However, just because the baby isn't all there yet, doesn't mean that it isn't a human life. At one point in time, you were a fetus. At one point in time you were a baby. If we say that a fetus isn't alive, then what changed. People these days are more concerned about fairy shrimps' lives than a human being's life who, news flash, have souls. Animals don't have souls. This is one of many reasons why we're different. Is a baby kangaroo not alive until it leaves the pouch? Life does and always will start at conception.
