Voter fraud is minuscule in this country. Increasing barriers to voting makes it even more difficult for citizens to practice their constitutional right to vote, therefore voter identification laws are an infringement on our rights. Especially for those who lack proper identification (ie. Elderly, minorities, poor), the steps that need to be met in many states in order to prove your identity prevent individuals from being able to vote. Additionally, by allowing states to decide individually whether to enforce voter identification laws would result in an even greater inequality in voting access whereby some states will have more restrictive laws compared to other states. This is not democratic, nor is it ethical or logical.
