First let me apologize for this lengthy response. I am a Progressive and a Roman Catholic. I believe that life begins at conception. I know others do not. I believe in the preciousness of life. I do believe that abortions on demand.....abortions not warranted by any other reason except that the child is not wanted. The unborn child should not have to die solely because it is unwanted. Adoption is always an option. If abortion were to be outlawed again it would still exist but performed by those unqualified by skill and in unsanitary conditions that could also cause the death of the mother. This is a very complex topic with many views. I believe that abortions should be reduced as much as possible, and that everyone needs to be educated on pregnancy, abortion and not just the options but the ramifications as well. Most women who have had abortions have regretted it later (as did Roe). The unborn child should not be faulted for the reason it was conceived. This is not about a woman's right to choose but about how a woman respects herself. I know I am speaking from a male viewpoint but this is how I feel and believe.
