If the idea is that if these Tax paying citizens want representation, they should move, then they should also be removed from the burden of taxes as their tax money is not getting representation. Why is it that republicans are always so afraid of more people being allowed to vote. They love the constitution till their voice is not the more popular opinion. If they are so afraid of having another state with democratic control, how bout you run a fair race with a candidate who is not a slime ball! This is also a riduculous argeument because using the logic of the federal gov’t being independent, then each state capital’s residents would not have representation on a state level and then so on. There are always 2 sides to every argument and perhaps that is what keeps getting lost in these discussions. I am a minority and live in a red state. I pay taxes and feel like my vote should count too. Our elected officials are not in office to represent some of the people red OR blue. They are elected to represent all of the people red AND blue. All of our officials should be striving to work for all of their constituents. The fact that there is no longer any room for compromise is very discouraging. DO BETTER!
