While I don't like that schools (and therefore the govt) are involved with this subject, the fact is parents are not enough, and in some cases, tragically, a parent is a perpetrator. Rape and sexual assault are an epidemic...we've all heard the statistics. Public school health classes are already teaching kids how sex is accomplished and what the consequences potentially are...to ignore or neglect the subject of consent is negligent. Silver lining: the student culture may be improved, and awareness and peer involvement with regards to intervention may also be improved. If it prevents one rape, it's worth it.
